A hydrocyclonic ESP desander taken from the Fat Man platform and converted for higher flow rates — with a safety shear sub so the ESP can be pulled if the tailpipe sticks.
HIMARS is a high-performance desander system for tackling sand and other debris in oil and gas wells. Using hydrocyclonic-style media separation, it removes solid particles from the production stream to ensure optimal sand control. Operating below the ESP, the system features a heavy-walled slotted sub for unrestricted flow from the reservoir, plus a tubing safety shear sub so the ESP can be safely pulled if the tailpipe becomes stuck. A single wire-reinforced cup packer provides enough isolation to divert flow into the desander — which is taken directly from the Fat Man platform and converted for higher flow rates, with erosion coatings for wear resistance and durability.
A Fat Man-derived desander, rate-converted and positioned below the ESP.
A heavy-walled slotted sub sits below the ESP, giving unrestricted flow from the reservoir into the desander.
A single wire-reinforced cup packer provides enough isolation to divert flow into the desander section, without needing a full setting mechanism.
The desander core is taken from the Fat Man platform and converted for higher flow rates, with rate-specific cyclonic spirals and erosion coatings standard.
If the mud joints below become stuck, the tubing safety shear sub allows the ESP to be pulled safely.
