A screened hydrocyclonic degasser desander built for wellbores where sand continually fills the mud joints — a wire-wrapped screen stage ahead of the standard Fat Man separation.
The FatMan KI is built for wellbores where sand will continually fill mud joints — including refractured wells, where proppant flowback often creates the same continually sandy conditions. It combines two types of solids separation for maximum fluid and solids handling: the outer housing is wire-wrapped to stop larger solids from moving into the inner chamber, while the larger screen still lets gas break away from the fluid through centrifugal and gravity separation, and the hydrocyclone at the bottom removes suspended solids. The wire-wrapped screen is available in 6, 8, 10, and 12 gauge, so mesh openness can be matched to the sand profile of the well. The system can be run in tandem to add screened surface area and delay plugging.
A screen stage ahead of the standard two-stage Fat Man separation.
The outer chamber is wrapped with a stainless steel screen, keeping larger solids from continually filling the mud joints below — the first line of defense in extremely sandy wellbores. The screen is available in 6, 8, 10, and 12 gauge to match the sand profile of the well.
The larger screen area still allows gas to break away from the fluid through the same centrifugal and gravity separation used across the Fat Man platform.
The lower portion houses the desander, where centripetal motion — the same vacuum-cleaner-style spin as the base Fat Man — forces remaining solids out of solution and into the lower mud anchor.
Running two units in tandem elongates the total screened surface area, extending the time before the screen plugs in the heaviest sand loading.
Available in a tandem configuration for extended screen area.

The FatMan KI desander works inside a flow window. Enter the pump or the daily fluid rate to see which spiral fits your well.
The base platform — centrifugal gas break away plus hydrocyclonic desanding.
Adds an integrated TAC bypass for unrestricted gas flow above the tool.
The desander stage adapted to sit below an ESP for higher flow rates.
